The Importance of Fire Safety

As a legal requirement of the British Standard of servicing, sprinklers require a visual check on a regular basis and need to be serviced around twice a year. Sprinkler Maintenance Checks

When sprinkler servicing takes place, the sprinkler system will be thoroughly checked to ensure that the system will operate as it’s designed to. It will also involve general maintenance and checking that system pressures and flows are functioning as they should.

A typical maintenance check will include:

  • The inspection of all sprinkler heads to ensure that they are fitted correctly, show no signs of leaking, corrosion or obstruction and that the range of the sprinkler head covers the required area 
  • The inspection of the ceilings and walls to ensure that the pipes aren’t leaking 
  • The inspection and testing of alarm systems and their interfaces to ensure they comply with regulations
  • The inspection of control systems, switches and valves
  • The conduction of system pressures and flow tests 

Once this test has been completed without any faults, your system will be re-certified as compliant.
